Here’s some quotes from a true lover of the mysterious, Albert Einstein:

“Once you can accept the universe as matter expanding into nothing that is something, wearing stripes with plaid comes easy.”

“If I had only known, I would have been a locksmith.”

“The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.“

“Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity and I’m not sure about the former.”

“Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds.”

“I know not what weapons World War III will be fought with, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.“

“Education … has produced a vast population able to read but unable to distinguish what is worth reading.”

“As far as the laws of mathmatics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to  reality. “

“When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That’s relativity.”

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.  It is the source of all true art and science.”

  1. These Einstein quotes are great! I guess true genius would have to have true candor also. My blog is all humor and satire about monsters, the world at large, random made up facts and the rest. Probably nothing genius about it, http://underdogs.wordpress.com, but this post was def. on the mark.

  2. Hi Ryan,
I tried to follow the link on your comment to your site but it wouldn’t take me there. Would love to visit it – could you try posting the link again? Feel free to add a ping back if you know how. (I don’t) Your observation about humour and candor is very perceptive.

Here’s a few more Einstein quotes I didn’t include in the first posting, many aren’t so funny but very instructive – or something like that:

“The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is at all comprehensible.”

“The hardest thing in the world to understand is income tax.”

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society; that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

“My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail
    and feeble mind.”

“The only reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once.”

“The important thing is not to stop questioning.”
